We have many conky versions with super easy installation, you can check conky collection. Typhoon is free, opensource and elegant weather widget or app for Ubuntu based on Stormcloud, it stays on the desktop just like conky. Unlike conky it offers customization which includes weather metrics 'Celsius''Fahrenheit''Kelvin' and 'mph''kph''m/s', and widget color can be changed directly from settings, depend on user eye-candy needs. It can be setup to show in all workspace under Ubuntu/Linux.

To install Typhoon in Ubuntu/Linux Mint open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:






To make typhoon visible in all workspaces follows these instructions.

Install compiz settings manager and plugins with this command:



Open 'CCSM' compiz settings manager > go to Window Management section > Check Window Rules

After selection click on 'Window Rules' and location 'Sticky' field then type class=Typhoon in this field.

What if location not found!!! Follow this method.
Simply go to weather.yahoo.com and type city name once location is found then in the URL address bar you will find city code then copy and paste this code in to the widget location under setting. See following image.
